- Archer Deck 17 photos The old deck did not meet code and needed to be taken down. This time the owner wanted it done right, so he called Whitmer Decks. The result is a safe well built deck that is much more spacious and usable to boot.
- Demetrops Deck 13 photos This front porch needed replaced quite a while ago. What a change to the look and functionality of the front of their house!
- Evans Deck 35 photos The old deck was just done, and it was time for a replacement. We changed the size a bit where is connected to the car port and provided a much nicer storage area underneath.
- Evers Deck 30 photos They liked the size and shape of the existing deck. We retained the size and shape while changing a few basic things to make the structure stonger, more durable and a little more functional. The flared stairs will lead to a future patio that will complete the backyard.
- Kucinich Screened Porch 52 photos They had a deck that had served it’s time. Thinking ahead they added a set of French doors from the Master in preparation for a screened porch. After working through a few designs with the owners the winning design is what you see in the pictures. What a great fit for this house and what a change. We even re-roof the house with architectural shingles. In a word AWESOME!
- Kugler Deck 20 photos The lower deck had a good structure and the owner was happy with the size and shape. Re-decking and railing this one was the right call. The upper deck was a little too small and the lack of a way down was not good. The one needed to be replaced with a larger deck with stairs to the existing patio. The result works very well.
- Laurvick Deck 26 photos The design was close to the existing deck, but there were a few slight changes to make it more functional. There were some challenges caused by the proximity of the septic tank, but once past that it was smooth sailing to a great new outdoor living space.
- Malhotra Deck 24 photos It was time for the old deck to go. The new one would be a little larger and we relocated the stairs. The duel lower stairs were a last minute addition and really worked great from both form and function. A great fit for the house.
- McCormick Deck 39 photos They were looking for something a little larger and a little less maintenance. This deck features the cape cod grey color with a pergola as well as a plant hanger. The stairs are flared and we replaced the split rail fence while we were there.
- McCray Deck 25 photos This is a great neighborhood and they have a lot of deck parties. This one did not have a deck, so the party was never there. We can fix that;-)
- McMullan Deck 17 photos There was a really nice back area to this townhouse, but no door was avaialble on the second level. We can fix that! This composite deck with metal balusters and accent lights fit the area perfectly. I door had to be added to allow acccess to the new outdoor living space.
- Moran Deck 17 photos We talked about other options like wrapping the deck around the garage, but in the end a direct replacement was the best option for them. We made a few small changes, but kept the same basic footprint.
- ONeil Deck 24 photos They were happy with the size and shape of the existing deck, but not with the shape it was in and the maintenance required year of year. They also did not like the steep single set of stairs. A composite deck with a landing was the obvious choice and fit the bill nicely.
- Ofner Screened Porch 41 photos Their old deck was done and they had always dreamed of a screened porch. Well dreams sometimes come true. This deck and screened porch had a little bit of everything going on, and it all pulled together nicely in the end. What a change for the better. I bet this one looks really great at night.
- Parsons Screened Porch 41 photos They had recently moved into the house and it had a very basic deck with stairs from the back door. The owners really wanted to be able to enjoy their backyard without worrying about bugs or foul weather. A screened porch really fit the bill here. While we were at it we replaced the fence and included a ground level deck in the corner of the yard. They have the nicest back yard on the block now!
- Pickett Deck 23 photos They wanted something just a little bigger and lower maintenance. We redesigned the stairs to lead more to the backyard and expanded it a couple of feet in each direction. Add composite for low maintenance and we have a winner.
- Pioso Deck 32 photos The old deck just did not work well for the familys needs. The hot tub came with the house and had long since been abandoned. The many levels cut the space up so much that there was no good place for a good size table and chairs. We wanted to preserve the view of the trees, so it was decided to go with a large bench and push the deck down a couple of steps closer to the ground. The design worked out great.
- Rogers Deck 15 photos We got to start with a clean slate on this one. There was bit of a challenge with Arlington County and zoning, but once we were past that things moved along very nicely and the results speak for themselves.
- Santone Screened Porch 81 photos What a change! - New screened porch. - New composite open deck. - New set of composite stairs. - New french doors from the house to the screened porch. - New sliding door from the house to the deck. - New roof on the shed. The result? Look for yourself.
- Theurer Deck 46 photos They liked the basic style of the existing deck. Just a few changes were needed to make a good design great. The octagon needed to be a bit larger to accommodate the furniture and the whole thing needed to be easier to maintain. The results speak for themselves.
- Tillman Deck 29 photos The old deck was done and they really wanted a hot tub. The new deck and hot tub fit perfectly on the house.
- Trautman Lower Deck 21 photos We replaced the upper deck a few years back. Now it is time to add a lower deck.
- Wallace Deck 21 photos The owners liked the size and layout of the deck they had, but they were ready for something with a little lower maintenance requirements. A composite deck with aluminum balusters is the perfect fit for this setting.
- Whitmer Kitchen 125 photos We specialize in Decks and Screened Porches, but every once in a while we go outside the box and do something different. This is a kitchen we completed during the slow season. It all turned out pretty well (for a deck builder ;-)
- Zipprich Gazebo 64 photos This house has a really nice view out the back and we wanted to preserve that. We also wanted a screened area for relief from the mosquitoes. Traffic flow was also a concern, so we needed to provide an easy way to get from the back door to the side of the house with the gate while also allowing a free flow to the main part of the backyard. The answer turned out to be a Gazebo that was detached from the house. To keep it out of the way and preserve the view we moved it down low and over to the side. The gazebo features cedar posts, a ceiling fan and upper and lower low voltage lighting. This one should really look cool at night. We also replace the aging fence while we were at it. The new outdoor living space is a great fit to the house and should provide many years of enjoyment to the very nice family that lives there.
