There were three main goals in the design of this deck.
1.) Provide privacy from the close neighbors patio.
2.) Provide a stairway to connect the downstairs patio to the open deck.
3.) Increase the size of the deck.

Provide a stairway to connect the downstairs patio to the open deck. 3.) Increase the size of the deck. In addition the owners wanted a low maintenance solution. They chose Evergrain Weather Wood composite material. A pergola with lattice was the answer to the privacy issues. A staircase with a landing provided a nice transition to the ground level patio. By increasing the size to 16'x20' there is more than enough space to accommodate their needs. As you can see from the pictures, the deck turned out great.
