This house had a small deck, and it had seen its day. Because of the southern exposure the deck was very hot for a good part of the summer and therefore not used very much. Because of the southern exposure the deck was very hot for a good part of the summer and therefore not used very much. We settled on building a screened porch for the portion that was against the house and an open Evergrain composite deck for the remainder. We were able to push the deck and screened porch out an additional 2 feet without running into issues with the addition below or the paver sidewalk that goes around the deck. It all turned out very nice and fits on the house perfectly.
